Scrolls of war is the first chapter of a trilogy about the history of brass.

There was a moment in history, thousands of years ago, when droughts, famines, earthquakes, floods and epidemics happened at the same time, in a very quick time frame. Some peoples were suddenly, desperately forced to emigrate to survive and these movements were cause of bloody and violent wars.

Ancients sancti fied those wars in the name of a god that would have chosen them and would guide them to the final victory. This god gave them the orders about how to face the final battle: the rules of war.

Priests were those in charge to announce the army movements with the sound of their trumpets and their horns…

Ottone Pesante face an imaginary trip among history, mythology, archeology with the purpose to analyse and exorcise the constant historical relationship of brass instruments and war, taking inspiration from a document dated I century AC found in Qumran, Palestine, at the end of the ’40s of 20th century: The Scrolls of War.

This musical trip has been intertwined with actuality in a dramatic manner showing how History often returns and showing how much progress human kind must do along the evolution road.
